Archival 42x54" Southwest Textile Painting Print in Rustic Shadowbox Frame
Like the evening lightening storms that crackle across the sagebrush-dotted plains of Southern New Mexico, this pattern expresses a dazzling energy that embodies the spirit of the Land of Enchantment.
This is a 42” x 54” fine art print on heavyweight archival cotton paper. It has been professionally shadowbox-framed (about an inch of air space between the plexiglas face and the print) in a deep frame with a beautiful antiqued barnwood finish. This magnificent print was hung in the living space in my historic Canyon Road studio, and was immortalized in Jane Smith’s book Santa Fe Sense of Place. This is the very same framed print seen in the book; because it has been “lived with” for a few years, the plexiglas face may show occasional very minor surface scuffs or scratches, one upper corner of the frame has a tiny gap, and a miniscule spider appears to have made the faintest little web at one time inside of a lower corner of the frame, but none of this detracts from the beauty of this large and stunning piece of art.
This print started out as very small gouache painting I made based on historic examples seen in the “rug room” at the Hubbell Trading Post in Ganado, AZ, which is the last photo pictured here. This small (approximately 6” x 8”) painting was then scanned at very high resolution and printed at 42” x 54” on a large-format fine art printer. The print shows all of the fine detail of the original painting— each brushstroke, pencil-sketch and the texture of the watercolor paper can be seen. I no longer have the printer, and this image will never be offered again— this is a one-of-a-kind piece, and if you love it, I encourage you to purchase it right away and come pick up in my Santa Fe studio; because of its size, it cannot be shipped.
During the checkout process you may be charged a small shipping fee— I will refund this back to your payment method, as this item can’t be shipped.
If you would like to see it in person before purchasing please let me know asap, so we can get you in to see it before someone else purchases here!
