A lovely Hand-built Acoma Pot by an Unnamed Potter; A Classic Example of New Mexico Pueblo Pottery
I acquired this years ago at Acoma Pueblo during their annual Feast Day, and did not take note of the artist— shame on me! What drew me to it is its simple bold graphic elements and the fact that it is clearly a hand-built (coiled) pot instead of the mold-made “greenware” that you often see. The walls are pleasantly thin, giving it a nice “ring” when tapped.
It has a good size, measuring around 4.75” tall and 6.75” across at the widest point. It has been a treasured piece in my collection— can even be seen on my bookshelf in Jane Smith’s iconic book Santa Fe: Sense of Place, but I’m ready to send it off to a new home… will it be yours?
I can ship this, or it can be picked up at my Santa Fe studio if you are local.
